G'day Reader Could the world have got any more crazy than it has already been in the last 5 years? Well, it was turned upside down (economically) last week and the ripples are turning into tsunamis around the globe. Now, I hate to tell you I told you so, but... ...I have been saying that the world isn't going to return to the old normal ever because we're witnessing changes in the global power structure and what's coming around the corner will be felt in our industry in the coming months. That said, in some respects, nothing has changed - we are in volatile times and things will happen that will impact our businesses - as I say to clients, the trick is to build your business and develop your strategy in a way that allows you to 'respond' to any events. Not see the next event as something new. It's just another event and we've built resilience into our business model so that we can deal with the shock! Whether that's a little or a big shock. It's a mindset thing. Once you adopt this mindset, it doesn't matter what gets sent your way next. You remain calm, you understand what 'the event' is going to do to your business AND the marketplace around you, and then you tweak your strategy so you are best placed to do well, while others around you may struggle or not even survive. I'll talk a bit more about this in our monthly event - details below. Where are you on my surviving to thriving range?I've been using this surviving to thriving ladder for several years. It's a useful starting point for how you feel right now, both in life and at 'work'. Don't overthink it. Start with life and just go with the word that resonates most. Do the same with 'work'. Don't overthink it! If you're thriving in either work or life then you're in the top 5%. Thriving in both is less 1%. The most frequently chosen words are struggling, then stuck, then surviving, then striving. Where are you for life and work? BEE Tx BlueprintUnderstanding where you feel you are right now, is nothing more than a starting point to transform your outcomes. As long as you want to get a better outcome, then you can start to get clarity about what you want. Using my BEE Transformation (Tx) Blueprint™ we work on 12 business elements, 12 aspects of life balance and 12 wellbeing markers that become the glue that holds everything together and enables you to truly thrive. Most businesses can at least start turning their results around within 100 days or so. 3 months is enough time to work out what can be improved, how to do it, get it started and start seeing some results improvements. The challenge is that too many business founders and execs find themselves in the shit and forget it didn't happen overnight, it took a while to get there. So, it won't get fixed overnight either, though it can be turned around 'quickly'. The other common challenge is that they think the problem is just one single thing, say 'falling revenue'. Which is a bit like saying your cold is caused by your runny nose. Getting to the cause of why revenue is falling is the key. you can try to do some tactical revenue-boosting actions, and you may get a short-term lift, but have you fixed the real problem? Understanding your business in a more in-depth way will help you develop a strategy that will get you better results, consistently, into the future. Next week I'll show you some more of this process. Join Me For Our Next Industry Insights BriefingThis month I'll cover the likely impact of Trump's Tariffs as one the things coming at us from around the corner. Other things are heading our way too! Haven't done one since before Christmas due to taking time out due to a bereavement, and I'm looking forward to bringing you up-to-date with what's coming around the corner that might bite you!

Simply hit reply and say hello. If you work for one of these folks, and you know they're struggling, please forward this email to them. Hospitality WellbeingIf you've attended any of the last 3 years of monthly Future of Hospitality events, you'll know that wellbeing, or lack of it, was brought up almost every month as one of the key topics. It's my mission to help leaders thrive, and that can only become a reality when people's personal battery charge indicator looks like their mobile phone at 100% charged, with green bars at the top, not a few red bars at the bottom which is where most hospitality people are. We accept our battery being constantly at 10-15% charge, knowing at any time it can go flat, or in our case, burn out! There's so much more to talk about on this so you can do things to improve your wellbeing and the wellbeing of your team. I've got some innovations coming through in this area designed to help lift the wellbeing of everybody in the business. How good might that be? Remember, we're stronger together.
